Traditionally, drawing lubricants in wire production are changed at fixed intervals or when a quality characteristic deteriorates, leading to avoidable material costs and production interruptions. The TOTAL USE approach, on the other hand, aims to extend the stable "original" condition of the drawing lubricant during use. As long as the drawing lubricant in the drawing box does not show any clumping, black residues, or dusty behavior, it should continue to be used.
A crucial point is to maintain the stability of the product used in the drawing box so that the wire only takes the amount needed for optimal lubrication, preventing clumping and crushing of the granules. The stability of the granules with optimal lubrication is thus an important quality feature. Therefore, only targeted refilling of the drawing lubricant directly during the process occurs, and no regular changes are needed.
This simple yet effective method extends the service life of the drawing lubricant and has proven successful in numerous customer projects. On average, the need for drawing lubricant is reduced by around 20 percent.
