1996 to today: Global growth, modernisation and precisely tailored specialty lubricants for all applications

Klüber Lubrication continues to build on its position as innovative worldwide market leader: The company acquires further lubricant manufacturers such as Summit Industrial Products in the USA (1996), IST Industrie-, Textilmaschinen- und Sonderschmierstoffe GmbH in Germany (2000) and needle and the sinker oil manufacturer Madol (2002). As a result, Klüber Lubrication offers precisely tailored specialty lubricants and know-how for every industry and application. Further sales offices and subsidiaries throughout the world expand the company’s presence in the markets.

As a result of the strong growth of Klüber Lubrication, the new European logistics centre in Maisach near Munich, with a total size of 40,000 square metres and a connected small container filling section, goes into operation in 2018. The most important goal of the new building: to continue to guarantee customers excellent service and outstanding delivery reliability.

To this day specialty lubricants from Klüber Lubrication are used when it comes to meeting the highest requirements and mastering special challenges: In the middle of the Antarctic, BARRIERTA KL092 guarantees the smooth operation of the fully automated observatory at the Dome Concordia Research Station. In the Atacama Desert, Klübersynth GH-6680 and ISOFLEX IDS Special A support the functionality of the instruments and components of the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA), a super telescope consisting of 66 interconnected precision antennas. On the North Sea coast of the Netherlands, lubricants from Klüber Lubrication contribute to ensuring that the 62 gates of the flood gates at the Oosterscheelde open and close with reliability even under the most extreme environmental and weather conditions.
