Wire drawing and Traxit belong together: Our founder August Neuhoff, chemist and pharmacist, started to develop and manufacture specialty lubricants for the wire industry back in 1881. His focus and goal was to improve efficiency in wire production through high-grade lubricants to enable companies in the wire drawing industry to meet the booming demand of the time. The connection with the wire industry is also reflected in our name: Traxit stems from a Latin term, the literal meaning of which is “drawn”.

We have remained faithful to these values of our founder to this day and work every day on innovative solutions with which our customers can increase productivity and cost-effectiveness in wire drawing and save energy and resources.

The location at which our first production building was erected in 1913 in Schwelm, Germany, is still the headquarters of Traxit to this day. With a total of three production sites in Germany, China and the USA as well as a network of experts and suppliers in over 150 countries, we have a worldwide presence and guarantee the global availability of our wire drawing lubricants.

Our 140 employees, around 80 of whom are experts in production and research, are the key to our success. With their sense of community and their identification, they place the wishes and requirements of our customers at the centre of everything we do.
